Rio Marina is a pretty village with a history linked to the extraction of minerals and fishing and tourism, where you can still breathe the typical atmosphere of the villages inhabited by "seafarers", with small shops, sweets and typical dishes , the restaurants where you can taste the catch of the day cooked with extreme care and sometimes with very old recipes. Possibility of water activities such as boat rental, diving center with PADI certification and sailing school.
The small beach of Il Porticciolo is made of gravel and is located in the town centre, while nearby there is the beautiful bay of Ortano, the beach of Le Fornacelle, the Topinetti, Cala Seregola, the coves of La Torre, Gennaro, Luisi d'Angelo to finish with the Cavo up to Porto Azzurro and Capoliveri.
The village is also home to many cultural and sporting events throughout the year, including fairs and festivals. Among the typical dishes of the area there are cod cooked with the recipe of the typical "Stoccafisso" as well as the "Sburrita", the "Schiaccia Briaca" and the traditional "Sportella di Pasqua".
Rio Marina is also an ideal base for exploring the island of Elba, as it offers a strategic position almost in the center of the island as well as the convenience of being able to disembark directly with the Toremar ferry.
